Hello, I am Vidisha Aggarwal, an interdisciplinary artist based in Chicago. I am currently pursuing my bachelor degree in painting, fibers and film at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
My work revolves around the relationship I, my viewers, and my art share with the spaces around us. I am interested in documenting and then manipulating the architectural spaces, and peoples notions about them through the layered use of color, transparency, and materiality.
My current body of work includes experiential, interactive installations at a human scale that transform and manipulate the space around them through participation & interaction.
An exploration that started with the intention to challenge the traditional roles of artists and viewers has now transcended into exploring more nuanced and personal topics of belonging, authorship, and agency we as occupants have within the spaces that surround us...
