With/In

With/in (Spring 2018) is the second iteration of The Annual Compassion Show - an exhibition curated by the Wellness Center at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago to explore and encourage discourse around themes of mental wellbeing. With/in reflects on the intersection of compassion and belonging. It highlights and examines how a sense of belonging can be fostered through the practice of compassion. The exhibition hopes to activate the spaces within the SAIC Wellness Center as avenues of critical discourse around diversity, gender, race, dis/ability, identity, and mental health. Through a variety of media, students have highlighted and examined belonging and compassion, and/or the interplay and relationships between the two, including how a sense of belonging can be fostered through the practice of compassion.
